Allegras Simple Knit Cap

“Materials:

1 skein of worsted weight yarn

1 pair size 8 straight needles

1 tapestry needle

Stitches and abbreviations:

k = knit

p = purl

cast on

St = stockinette stitch ( k 1 row, p 1 row)

Rib = ribbing (k2, p2)

k2tog = knit two stitches together

Pattern:

Cast on 62 stitches.

Work Rib across for first five rows.

Work in St for approximately 5”.

Begin decreases across the row (k3, k2tog)

P next row

k2, k2tog across

P next row

k1, k2tog across

Purl next row

k2tog across

Using your tapestry needle, thread through the remaining stitches and pull tight. Seam the sides together to complete your hat.

If you like, make a small pom-pom and attach to the top of the hat. See additional instructions for making a pom-pom.”
